Volume 1, Number 1, Fall 2006
Walden University’s Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) Cyberspace Chapter is
proud to announce the launching of the Journal of Educational Practice
for Social Change (JEPSC), which will provide a strategic forum for
Walden University faculty, staff, students, and alumni to help enact
positive social change. The Walden chapter of PDK defines positive
social change as the result of actions and/or ideas that empower
individuals, organizations, and societies to achieve the common good.

The PDK Cyberspace Chapter Journal is designed for students and
alumni to share their action research studies with the Walden
community and the educational community at large. Students who
have had manuscripts approved by the university are urged to
synthesize their work to a shorter format, and have it reviewed and
submitted for publication in JEPSC. It is the Editorial Board’s belief that
this journal will help expand Walden’s scholarly community, raise the
professional profile of the Walden University PDK Cyberspace Chapter
as a professional organization, and provide a forum for PDK members
to publish their work.

The first issue of the JEPSC features an article by Walden Ph.D.
doctoral student, Sandy Wenzel, regarding the history of inclusion in
special education placement and service delivery.
Sandy Wenzel:
An overview of special
education, motivation,
and achievement from
the perspective of one
exceptional adult learner.
